Haile Binns

Haile Binns é uma Artista Americana Jamaicana, nasceu e cresceu em Nova Iorque. Cria as suas obras a partir de materiais existentes em cada novo contexto de trabalho. O seu processo artístico é uma filosofia de transformação por assemblage. Interessa-se por questões relacionadas com as diferenças raciais e económicas, o género e a diáspora africana.

A artista trabalha com objetos naturais e encontrados, com os quais transforma as suas descobertas em esculturas, criando mapas com as suas composições. 

Durante a residência, Haile irá explorar temas relacionados com a água, a memória, beleza e luz recorrendo ao papel artesanal que faz no estúdio.
